of Stock
(Piper nigrum) P410
Perennial 1' Part Sun–Shade
Tender/Evergreen Cream C,O
$45.00 |

This is the true black
pepper found in pepper mills throughout the world. One of the oldest know spices, pepper
was once so prized it was sold by the individual peppercorn, and once worth its weight in
gold. Pepper was the main spice traded along the caravan routes of the east. It was a main
reason for early European exploration of sea routes, making it important in the
development of modern civilization. Black Pepper is a woody-stemmed climber or creeper
with dark green oval leaves. It makes a great houseplant, or a trailing plant in a hanging
basket. Vary rare!

Pennyroyal, English
(Mentha pulegium) P400
Perennial 1'
Full Sun–Part Sun
Hardy/Herbaceous Purple
F,GC,W! $4.75 |
|
The
strong mint-scented leaves of Pennyroyal make an excellent ground cover, spreading like a
mint. Pulegium is derived from the Latin pulex, meaning "flea",
because pennyroyal is a very effective flea and ant repellant. It is a common ingredient
in many flea shampoos for pets. Although pennyroyal has been used in teas and cooking
(notably the black pudding of Northern England) for centuries, it is not recommended
for internal use. It contains pulegone, a toxic compound notorious for causing abortion,
and also leads to irreversible kidney damage. But is smells great between pavers!
Pennyroyal can cause allergic reactions, use caution.

tablespoon of ground dried flowers with 1 quart of hot water, let stand until cool and
spray on bug-infested plants. Warning: Some people can be allergic to pyrethrum, so
